Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Bannerji recently took the initiative to open more colleges in various corners of West Bengal. So far 17 districts have been chosen and it has been decided that 17 colleges will open soon. Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Murshidabad, and fourteen other districts will benefit from this plan.
This decision was made in a meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, at his house in Delhi. Several political leaders met and the plan was passed by the central government of India. Altogether 374 colleges will be built all over the country. At least 2992 crore will be necessary to carry out this plan. The central government will give 1079 crores to make sure that it happens. This kind of effort will make advancement in education possible in West Bengal and all of India.
