The Amar Ekushey Boi Mela 2010 began on the 2nd of February at Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka, commemorating the martyrs of the Language Movement, 1952.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair. She also opened the Language Movement Museum at the academy's Bardhaman Bhaban.
The opening sessions have been telecasted live on BTV and Bangladesh Betar.
A total of 505 stalls have been distributed among 356 institutions. The publication houses, several voluntary organizations, government and non-government organizations and media houses will participate in the fair.
