In an exclusive interview with VOA, Imdadul Haq Milon, one of the most popular Bangla novelists speaks about this year’s book fair in Dhaka – Ekushey Boi Mela. He describes how the book fair has been organized and talks about the ways that it can be improved.
The Amar Ekushey Boi Mela 2010 began on the 2nd of February at Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka, commemorating the martyrs of the Language Movement, 1952. Poets, writers, and intellectuals of Bangladesh gathered along with Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister, who inaugurated the fair. A total of 505 stalls have been distributed among 356 institutions. Publication houses, several voluntary organizations, government and non-government organizations and media houses will participate in the fair.
Imdadul Haq Milon writes about a range of topics – historical writings as well as simple love stories. He also has a talk show called “Kee Kotha Tahar Shone.”
