Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh has asked Biman, Bangladesh Airlines to resume its Dhaka-New York flight as soon as possible. Inaugurating a new logo for the national flag carrier on Wednesday, she also asked Biman authorities to open new routes to those countries where Bangladeshi workers have been working in large numbers.
Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this new look of Biman at the VVIP Terminal at Zia International Airport. Two New Generation Boeing aircrafts – 777-200ER and 737-800NG were also added to its fleet. This event also showcased seven new designs of sarees that can be used as the uniform for the in-flight crew and ground staff.
The Dhaka-New York flights were suspended in July 2006. Biman authorities hope that they will be resumed within March.
