Bangladesh National Party (BNP), the leading opposition party of Bangladesh decided to join the Parliament after boycotting it for 63 consecutive settings since last June. At a press conference at the Jatya Sangsad Bhaban, Opposite Leader Khaleda Zia announced the decision. Out of the 40 opposition lawmakers, 36 were present at the meeting.
Mahfuzullah, a political analyst and Golam Sarwar from the Daily Shomokal told VOA that they welcome this historic decision. They hope that BNP will remain in Parliament and take part in its proceedings keeping the greater national interest in mind. They should not boycott the Parliament again.
