Venkateswar Reddy, the recently arrested top Maoist leader is yet not divulging any organizational secret to the police. But it is hoped that his arrest may pave the way for an arms truce and talks between the government and the Maoists of West Bengal. Even Nepalese Maoist leaders have advised their Indian friends for talks.
A special team of Indian police arrested Reddy late Tuesday in Kolkata where the rebels recently staged one of their most daring attacks. He is the latest of several key Maoist leaders taken into custody in recent months.
