India’s political parties will be debating a historic bill, which if passed, will reserve 33% parliament seats for women in parliament. It is expected that the bill will be passed on the 8th of March which is International Women’s Day.
This bill which has been held up for 15 years is at last expected to become a law with Congress, BJP and leftist parties agreeing to vote in favor of the bill. But there are some political groups who are against this. They believe that before focusing on women, attention should be given on the advancement of those Hindus in the country who have fallen behind.
