Food and Disaster Minister Abdur Razzak has denied that the government of Bangladesh has been involved in the ill-treatment of Rohingya refugees as alleged by the international media.
"The international media is publishing false information, and some non-governmental organizations are abetting them," Razzak told reporters on Thursday after a meeting with UNHCR Bangladesh officials in his office. He said this after a meeting with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Bangladesh Chief Craig Sander.
He said that the government of Bangladesh is carrying out an investigation to identify the NGOs involved and the NGO Bureau has been requested to take action.
