A grand rally was held in front of the UN Headquarters in New York on Sunday, 4th April 2010 to support the trial of the ‘war criminals’. The rally also vowed to resist those who were trying to foil the trial process.
More than 600 people from all walks of life joined the massive and unprecedented rally. The presence of more than 150 children and ladies with Bangladesh flag and placards in their hands added new dimension to the rally. Bangladeshi Americans from Washington, Boston, New Jersey, Atlantic City, Connecticut and New York joined the rally.
Many Bangladeshi socio-cultural organizations participated in the rally and raised the slogan and banners supporting the efforts by Bangladesh government to bring the war criminals of 1971 to justice. An eight point demand was also read out which asked the government to let not the oppositions to this trial hinder the process of justice.
