A. M. A. Muhit, the Finance Minister of Bangladesh spoke at a roundtable forum on food security hosted in Washington, DC by US Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner.
Mr. Muhit said food security remains a priority area for the government of Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh has been taking all necessary steps to ensure that in Bangladesh. He added that the international community also has a role in this vital area.
The roundtable was attended by policy makers, bankers, academics, and others. Speaking of the occasion, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said the Obama administration gives great importance to ensure food security for all and with this goal in mind the US Government has organized the roundtable forum.
