Nargis, after retiring from Women’s Affairs related areas of the government,
joined an NGO from Bangladesh called Women for Women.One of the most important women's groups in
Bangladesh is Women for Women: A Research and Study Group, located in Dhaka.
is a pioneer non government, non-profit, voluntary women's organization,
engaged in research and public education programs on gender issues with a view
to enhancing the status of women. It was established in 1973 by a group of
committed woman professionals, representing a variety of academic disciplines.
Nargis recently came to New York to participate at the UN sponsored discussion
targeted to review 1995women’s
conference at Beijing . In this exclusive interview she discussed her progress
achieved in twelve critical areas as identified at the Beijing Conference. She
