An Indian official says New Delhi plans to deport thousands of Pakistanis overstaying their visit in the country, and is considering more travel restrictions for security reasons.
A state minister for home affairs, C-Vidyasagar Rao, said today (Sunday) that more than 11-thousand Pakistanis are in India illegally -- most of them because they stayed on beyond the term of their visas allow. Mr. Rao says New Delhi has directed all state governments to see that the Pakistanis are arrested and deported back home.
Mr. Rao also says there are plans to limit Pakistani tourists to visiting just three cities during their time in India -- down from the current limit of 12 destinations.
