Bangladesh has expressed concerns about United States's decision to include Bangladesh in its Special Registration List. Non-US immigrants and those travelling from Bangladesh will have to register with the Immigration and Naturalization Service in US. Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Shamsher M. Chowdhury said Bangladesh hopes that the restrictions would be limited in scope and forms.
US Ambassador in Dhaka Marry Ann Peters in a press statement said the goal of the security measure is to better track all foreign visitors to the US. She said that the majority of travellers from Bangladesh to the US would not be subject to these restriction requirements.
