Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee says war is not a solution to the crisis in Iraq, but would only causes oil prices to soar.
The Indian leader said today (Tuesday) a war in Iraq would disturb the world economy and he urged the United States to in his words "practice restraint."
Earlier, the Indian government urged Iraq to comply with all U-N resolutions.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's prime minister, Zafarullah Jamali, has called for a diplomatic solution to the Iraqi situation. He also said hopes Iraq will comply fully and unconditionally with all U-N security resolutions.
Mr. Jamali is on a tour of five Gulf states to discuss ways of avoiding war in Iraq.
