India has proposed to begin Indo-Bangladesh bilateral free trade talks as soon as possible. In a discussion in Dhaka's Metropolitan Chambers of Commerce and Industries , the Indian High Commission in Dhaka Veena Sikri said that they hope that the postponed talks would begin soon. The FTA discussion was scheduled to begin in the first week of January but it was postponed on Bangaldesh's request. In an exclusive interview with VOA ,Ms Sikri said that both the countries had agreed to continue bilateral FTA Talks . However , the business leaders in Dhaka pointed out the big trade gap between Bangladesh and India.
