Protests against the ghastly attack on Profesor Humayun Azad continues in Dhaka university campus and in many other places in Bangladesh. At the strike-bound Dhaka University, thousands of students, teachers and civil society members, wearing black badges, their faces and eyes covered with black cloth, took out protest processions and vented their outrage at rallies. Political parties, cultural and human rights activists, civil society and professional bodies, eminent personalities and conscious citizens all closed ranks in condemning the atrocity through various programmes. In the meantime some members of Azad's family met with Prime Minister Khaleda Zia who assured them that if Dr Azad doesnt shows the signs of recovery in Bangladesh , he may be sent abroad for more treatment. The ministry of home affairs also says that a special monitory team is looking after this case. Physicians have said that he is showing some signs of improvement . It may recalled that the prominent author and professor was hacked with machete by unknown assailants when he was on his way home from a book fair.
