Two BNP MPs Resign Protesting Government's Failure in  Bangladesh - 2004-03-10


Two members of Parliament elected from the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party have resigned their membership protesting against ,what they call, governments failures to deliver as they had promised in their election manifesto. The member's are Maj Abdul Mannan , a former state minister and Mahi B Chowdhury , the son of the former President Badruddoza Chowdhury who was forced to resign when the parliamentary party of BNP criticised him for not visiting the tomb of the late President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP. It is now declared that Dr Badruddoza Chowdhury is going to start formally the new party on Thursday, March 11, 2004 and the two MPs are set to join the new party. Maj Mannan has been named as the Secretary General of the yet to be declared party.
