Bangladesh has strongly condemned Israel's killing of Hamas spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, calling it a heinous act.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister Morshed Khan said Dhaka has consistently opposed any extra-judicial killing of civilians and urged the two sides to renew their peace initiative.
Mr. Khan said Bangladesh strongly supports the Palestinian cause and advocates an independent Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
