Leader of the Opposition Sheikh Hasina addressed a rally on Monday in Dhaka. After the rally, thousands of her supporters marched through the streets in Dhaka, repeating the call for immediate resignation of the government. The day also marked Mujibnagar Day in memory of the formation of Bangladesh's first government.
The prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia laid foundations of the Karnaphuli Third Bridge Project in Chittagong on Monday.
