A five-day director general level border talks between Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) began at the BDR headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday.
BSF Director General Ajay Raj Sharma, who arrived in the capital Wednesday, is leading a 15-member Indian delegation to the talks while BDR Director General Major General M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury leading a 19-member home side team. BSF has proposed a joint patrol at Indo-Bangla border to curb criminals. BDR says the government of Bangladesh is reviewing the situation. Talks about cross border crime and other related issues were the highlights of the meeting.
