Christina Rocca, the Assistant Secretary of State focussed on the importance of a stable Bangladesh which can contribute to the stability of the region . She was speaking during the innauguration of a one day conference on Bangladesh:Democracy ,Governance and Resources organized under the auspices of CSIS and AIBS on Thursday. Ms Rocca appreciated the achievement of Bangladesh but cautioned against corruption and polarization between the ruling alliance and the main opposition in Bangladesh. She mentioned that the USA was a very important trade partner of Bangladesh and would like to see Bangladesh growing from strength to strength.
