Opposition is not Allowed to Speak in Bangladesh's Parliament: Hasina Alleges - 2004-05-06

Sheikh Hasina has once again alleged that the opposition in Bangladesh is not allowed to express their views in the parliament. She was speaking to journalists on Thursday on her way to a private visit to the USA. She said that although the government asks the opposition to join the parliament, when they do, they are not allowed to speak. She also complained of massive rigging, capturing of polling stations, preventing voters from going to centres and attacks on Awami League leaders and workers marked the elections which, she alleged, cannot be happened without government backing.
