US Assistant Secretary of State Christina Rocca is now in Bangladesh for a three day visit. On Tuesday, she met with Finance Minister Saifur Rahman, Foreign Secretary Shamsher Mobin Choudhury and leader of the opposition Sheikh Hasina. She also attended a luncheon at the Bangladesh American Chamber. Ms. Rocca talked about the progress that is being made in education and population control in Bangladesh but she expressed concerns about the discord between the two political parties which is hampering economic progress. She urged the opposition to join the parliament.
