In an interview with VOA Bangla Service Sirajul Islam, Bangladeshi Ambassador in Tokyo says that police in Japan are investigating the possible link between the detained Bangladehi Mohammad Himu and the alleged al-Qaida member Lionel Dumont. The police are also investigating the huge some of money which Mohammad Himu is said to have accumulated through his pay-phone business. Himu is one of the three Bangladeshis who are being held by Japanese police. The Ambassador, however, says that he has heard that the charges which have been brought against them do not mention that they are linked to Al Qaida . He also mentions that the Japanese government has not officially informed Bangladesh government of any charges.
