Torkel L Patterson, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of South Asian Affairs in an interview with Voice of America expressed his dismay and outrage about the recent grenade attacks at a rally of the main opposition party Awami League in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He expressed concerns about the recent instability in Bangladesh and said that it is very important that the Bangladesh Government takes all necessary action to pursue the investigation and find those who are responsible. Mr. Patterson reiterated US offer of assistance of US investigating agencies.
