The British government has agreed to a U.S. request to redeploy 850 British troops to volatile areas in central Iraq.
Defense Secretary Geoff Hoon told the House of Commonson Thursday there is a "compelling" justification for accepting the American request -- as well as an "acceptable" level of risk to British soldiers.
British military officials say the deployment is planned to last for 30 days.
