In our calling show, Hello Washington this week the topic of discussion was Impediments to Intellectual Freedom in West Bengal.Our guests were Abed Khan, an eminent journalist and Editor,Bhorer Kagoj from Bangladesh and Onirban Chattapadhaya , Editor of the editorial page of Ananda Bazar from kolkata. The discussants, in their answers to questions , highlighted several impediments to intellectual freedom in South Asia including the lack of democracy,religious fundamentalism,socio-economic factors and interference by government.
