VOA Bangla has resonated with listeners by providing reliable, accurate programming and proactively reaching out to the audience to make a positive difference in their lives. VOA Bangla Fan Clubs spearhead this community outreach as members listen to our programs and promote VOA through their newsletters, discussions and periodic seminars. There are over 1000 VOA Bangla Fan Clubs in Bangladesh and West Bengal.
 
VOA Bangla Fan Clubs are also engaged in various social welfare, health, education, and cultural, developmental and humanitarian projects in their respective areas.  Bangladeshi leaders including the Prime Minister, Health Minister, Information Minister and Education Ministers (current and the previous administration) addressed Polio Eradication Seminars and Fan Club meetings sponsored by VOA Bangla in Dhaka during the last 6 years.

Health experts, VOA Fan Club members and the VOA Bangla Service Chief participated in these functions. Both print and electronic media covered all these events extensively. The polio eradication campaign sponsored by the VOA Bangla Service and the VOA Bangla Fan Clubs has helped eradicate polio from Bangladesh. The Service devotes programs to this effort, exclusively highlighting various activities of the VOA Bangla Fan Clubs in Bangladesh.
