Source: https://learningenglish.voanews.com/a/carmakers-compete-to-improve-electric-vehicles-/5623019.html Summary: Carmakers from the United States and other countries are thinking about ways to manufacture and improve a technology called an e-axle or e-drive. This technology is fast becoming an area of competition in the automobile industry. The e-axle, or e-drive, joins an electric vehicle’s gear, motor, and power-control electronics. It is the “brain” that controls how a vehicle uses energy stored in its battery. This “brain” turns that energy into power. It also helps get back energy lost when stopping the vehicle. In other words, a well-designed e-axle increases a vehicle’s power efficiency and ability to change speeds. It also helps extend the vehicle’s driving range and its smoothness. Report: Mohammed Rukon Uddin (Cox’s Bazar) Related item code: 9-P Duration: 7:57 minutes Topic: Vashanchar island, new home for Rohingyas but still required some processes and consent of Rohingyas to relocate. Translation Summary: Bangladesh government has been implementing some facilities to relocate 100,000 Rohingyas to Vashanchar island but critics have been concerned about the safety and security staying that island. Amnesty international urges Bangladesh government to take back 300 Rohingyas who are staying there. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2020/11/bangladesh-plan-to-relocate-hundreds-of-rohingya-to-remote-island-must-be-dropped/ Strong shelters, cyclone shelters, schools and mosques have been constructed to live. We are here to get our rights back and return to our home”. He also mentioned about the people who are willing to go. He said, “Some people respects Bangladesh governments plan of relocation at Vashanchar as they are the saviour our life and decision maker when we are here”. Another Rohingya (unwilling to mention name) said,”This is a sensitive issue. People don’t discuss it among themselves. Some want to go but others don’t. I personally don’t want to go there because there is a proverb goes that a banana tree will die if it is relocated 2/3 times.
