The US military says soldiers killed 24 terrorists in Iraq who attacked coalition troops on the outskirts of Baghdad Sunday. It says six coalition troops were wounded in the fighting. Another insurgent attack killed a U.S. soldier in Kirkuk and wounded three others. Meanwhile, in Mosul, a suicide bomber killed a top Iraqi anti-corruption official in an attack claimed by al-Qaida-linked militants. Hours later, unidentified gunmen fired on cars in his funeral procession, killing two mourners and wounding at least 10 others. And in Samarra, authorities say a policeman was killed while walking to work, when gunmen in a passing vehicle opened fire.
