In the civic polls in the Indian state of West Bengal , the left front has won majority in 48 out of 79 city corporations. In five city corporations the left front and their rivals have are in tie. In other city corporations where they are in limbo the future will be decided by independent winners. This election arithmetic has gone through evolution over the last four decades and the leftists in the city corporations are in a more comfortable positions than they were last year.
