Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he believes the era of Palestinian suicide attacks against Israelis is over. In an interview with ABC television aired Sunday, Mr. Abbas said Palestinians have stopped the "culture of violence" that supported such attacks. But Mr. Abbas warned Palestinians will "return to old ideas" if peace talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon do not bring progress. Meanwhile, an Israeli military aircraft fired missiles at a group of Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip. Witnesses say two people were wounded in the strike on the Jabaliya refugee camp. In other developments, the Israeli cabinet approved the release of 400 Palestinian prisoners. Israel agreed to free a total of 900 prisoners as part of a February truce. It has already released 500.
