The US military says six US troops have been killed and 13 - mostly women - wounded by a suicide car bomber in Iraq. The military says the attack took place late Thursday in the city of Fallujah. The bomber struck a convoy of Marines as it drove through the city. Insurgents nearby opened fire on the Americans after the bomber's car exploded. At least one of the dead and 11 of the wounded are US servicewomen, who search civilian women at military checkpoints in Fallujah. A U.S. sailor is also among the casualties. The military officials also say U.S. and Iraqi forces foiled an insurgent attack against a Baghdad police unit earlier this week. Thirteen insurgents were captured.
