In Bangladesh more than 200 thousand pharmaceutical shops remained closed on Wednesday. The owners of the pharmaceutical shops were protesting against harassment by the police. The strike was called by Bangladesh Chemist and Druggist Association (BCDA) .They have complained against extortions by police. They complained that despite informing the state minister for home affairs and the high officials from police nothing was done to assure them . The strike had of course badly affected the patients who were in dire need of medicines.
