Police Name 2 Suspects in Failed Transit Bombings

British police have identified two suspects in last Thursday's failed transit bombings in London.

Police named 24-year-old Yasin Hassan Omar and 27-year-old Muktar Said Ibraihim, also known as Muktar Mohammed Said, as two of four would-be bombers and released more photographs of all four suspects.

Officials also identified a particular type of plastic food container used in the four unexploded bombs and in a fifth device found Saturday, apparently abandoned by a fifth bomber.

Police asked the public for any information regarding the suspects or about recent sales of such containers.

Also Monday, Prime Minister Blair said Britain is "desperately sorry" for Friday's police killing of a Brazilian man mistaken for a terrorism suspect. Brazil's foreign minister Celso Amorim was to meet with his British counterpart, Jack Straw, Monday to discuss the incident.
