Musharraf Confident in Peace Process with India

Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf says the peace process with India remains on track, despite Indian concerns about militant training camps inside Pakistan. Mr. Musharraf said on Friday that the situation regarding training camps is "on the mend." He said there is improvement in every sphere of activity. He also expressed confidence in bilateral ties, and he denied reports that the rival nations have experienced setbacks in their efforts to resolve past disputes. Last week, India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said relations could not return to normal if Pakistan continued to allow militants to use its soil to stage attacks in Kashmir. Indian officials have expressed concern that melting snow has opened mountain passes used by militants in Kashmir.
