Prime Minister Khaleda Zia , on Saturday, at an exclusive meeting with her senior Cabinet colleagues reviewed the overall post bomb-blast situation of the country. The Prime Minister returned home Friday night cutting short her visit to China as the series bomb blast ripped through 63 of the country’s 64 district headquarters on Wednesday.
The meeting held at the Prime Minister also consulted with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and chiefs of different intelligence agencies. Finance and Planning Minister M Saifur Rahman, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Khondkar Mosharraf Hossain, Prime Minister’s Political Secretary Haris Chowdhury and State Minister for Home Lutfozzaman Babar attended the meeting. Prime Minister’s political secretary Haris Chowdhury said that actions would be taken against the perpetrators of the crime. In the meantime 26 people are being questioned in the Intelligence Cell in Dhaka. They are the members of now defunct Jamatul Mujahideen. One hundred and twenty three people were held following the blast.
