Bombs Kill 17 in Central Baghdad

Suicide bombers in Baghdad have killed 17 people in attacks on a hotel complex used by foreign journalists.

Most of the dead appear to have been security guards, hotel staff or passers-by.

Video footage showed a car exploding and smashing a hole in the wall around the hotels, which allowed a cement truck filled with explosives to drive into the compound before detonating. A third car bomb went off nearby.

Meanwhile, Iraqi election officials are reviewing votes cast in Ninevah province from the constitutional referendum this month.

Most provinces approved the draft, but it will fail if two-thirds of voters in three provinces voted "no."

Officials say two mostly Sunni Arab provinces (Anbar and Salahaddin) overwhelmingly rejected the draft.
