The promulgation of an ordinance by Bangladesh President Iajuddin Ahmed allowing the government to tap and collect telephonic conversations 'in the interest of the national security', has evoked strong criticism from different quarters in the country.
The President signed the ordinance on Sunday.
Legal experts, human rights activists, political, social and business leaders fear that there will be misuse of the law.
