Congressman Joseph Crowley, the Chair and Founder of the Congressional Caucus on Bangladesh commented on the recent annoucement of the Asian Development Bank's commitment of $20 million for flood control in Bangladesh. As a Member of the Committee on Financial Services,and the Domestic and International Monetary Policy Subcommittee which oversees ADB, Congressman Crowley has been a strong supporter of economic assistance for Bangladesh.
Congressman Crowley said "This $20 million is a step forward to help the Bangladeshi people improve flood control and water management. As a country prone to frequent flooding in monsoon season, thistechnical assistance will insure that homes and people are protected from raging floodwater and economic disaster.” He also commended the Asian Development Bank for investing in this project which would make a tangible difference for the Bangladeshi people.
