In the spate of Islamic terrorism in Bangladesh in recent days , political analysts are trying to find out the source of finance for these terorrist.
Professor Abul Barkat of the Department of Economics in Bangladesh has done a research on the Economy of Fundamentalism.In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service,he has identified eight broad sectors through which the fundamentalists are funded. He also says that the Islamic fundamentalists in Bangladesh seem to be planning to capture the state machineries. In this second of the two part interview Prof Barkat talks about the general economic impact of the terrorism in Bangladesh. He also emphasizes that because of the humanistic nature of Islam in Bangladesh, the fundamentalists will not be able to come into power through democratic means but they may try to capture the state power by force.
