More Iraqi Violence, as Protests Continue Against Election Results


Insurgents in Iraq targeting police and army patrols killed at least six people on Sunday, while Shi'ite and Sunni groups in Baghdad and al-Anbar province held rival demonstrations for and against partial election results.

Separately, police in Mosul say the body of a kidnapped Sunni Muslim student protest organizer was recovered, just days after he led demonstrations against election tallies.

In Baghdad, an early morning explosion today left a U.S. tank in flames. The U.S. command has not reported any casualties.

The U.S. military also says an American soldier has died from wounds sustained in a grenade attack Saturday in northern Iraq ,near Hawijah.
