State-run Air India has signed an agreement to buy 68 commercial jetliners from U.S. aircraft maker Boeing.
Analyst say the deal is worth up to 11 billion dollars and is the largest in India's civil avation history. The deal with the world's second-largest plane manufacturer was finalized after months of negotiation.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin next November. Boeing also plans to set up a 100 million dollar facility for aircraft maintenance in India and invest millions more for pilot training.
