US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Christina Rocca, will be going to Bangladesh on January 26 for a 3-day visit. United States has offered to help to set up a Counter-Terrorism Bureau to enhance Dhaka's capability to effectively deal with terrorism and militancy. Ms. Rocca is expected to talk with officials regarding that.
Meanwhile, A European Union delegation known as Troika will be going to Dhaka on Monday on a three-day visit to hold talks with government and opposition leaders, representatives of civil society and international diplomatic community on a broad range of issues, including next general elections, fundamentalist extremism, governance, corruption and human rights.
