Grenade Attack Kills Two Pakistani Children

A grenade attack by an unidentified person in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta has killed two children.

Authorities say they have no details about the person who threw a grenade on the city street where the children were playing. The Associated Press says three children were wounded.

An investigation is underway.

Quetta is the capital of Baluchistan province where autonomy-seeking tribal militants are waging a low-intensity insurgency against the central government. They are demanding a greater share of benefits from natural resources but they have not been known to attack civilians.
