The main opposition party in Bangladesh thinks that an objective and fair investigation into the recent trend of terrorism in Bangladesh in the name of religion is not possible by the present government. Awami League has alleged repeatedly that religious fundamentalists within the ruling alliance are linked to the terrorists and they, in the past, have helped the terrorists. The opposition thinks that because of the electoral alliance with the Islamic fundamentalists, Bangladesh government is unlikely to go ahead with fair and objective investigations into all these matters.
In a press conference , the General Secretary of Awami League, M A Jalil says that government has been holding the opposition responsible for the terrorism but on the other hand , there are ample evidences which prove the contrary where the involvement of the ruling alliance is evident. He says that in these circumstances , only an international probe on this matter can be fair and dependable. He also says that real facts will not be revealed be the terrorists are being questioned by the intelligence in Bangladesh who , he alleges , had protected them once.
