Bangladesh’s Opposition Plans to Siege Election Commission for Fair Election

A fourteen-party opposition alliance, led by the main opposition Awami League has announced its program to lay a siege on Bangladesh Commission Office to press their demands to hold the upcoming parliamentary election in free and fair way. The program begins from 11 am local time in Dhaka on 12 March 2006.

Although the leader of the opposition Sheikh Hasina has placed these demands in the parliament, the government of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has taken no effective measures on this issue . Bangladeshi Prime Minister had talked about making a committee for this purpose but no real measures have been taken so far.
