The 14-party opposition alliance on Sunday set up a 7-member committee to draft a reply to the BNP secretary general's letter inviting it to the dialogue.
The committee members are 14-party coordinator Abdul Jalil, Tofail Ahmed, Suranjit Sengupta, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu, Pankaj Bhattacharya and Enamul Haque. The committee starts working from Monday and is expected to finalize the opposition's response in a couple of days.
The new debate has centered around the fact whether these parties will sit with the anti- liberation parties like Jamat-e-Islam or not. The Jamat claims that it had meetings with Awami League in the past and a few smaller parties are protesting who do not have any seats in the parliament.
