Authorities in northern India say more than 50 people have been killed and at least 100 injured in a fire that swept through a crowded electronics trade show.
Officials say the death toll may rise from the fire, which broke out on Monday in the town of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh state.Initial reports said an electrical short circuit caused the blaze, but an investigation is underway.
TV footage showed blackened steel frames, which were all that remained of tents at the fair. The footage also showed screaming injured, and rescuers pulling bodies out of huge tents that were destroyed.
