The first phase of the voting for West Bengal state legislature begins on Monday. As the regulations require the campaign in those areas have stopped since midnight on Saturday.
The first phase of polling will take place in Purulia , Bankura and West Midnapore areas of West Bengal. Total number of candidates is 227. Strong security measures have been taken in all these three places because of the apprehensions about the Maoist rebellions.
